SRWare Iron is a privacy-enhanced web browser based on Chromium, which is the open-source project behind Google Chrome. By default, Iron sends out less information if compared to Chrome (e.g., creating a unique user ID or the submission of entries to Google to generate suggestions), making it potentially more privacy friendly and secure in operation.
Iron supports both official and unofficial themes and some extensions from Chrome. Additionally, to enable blocking ad servers, a 'adblock.ini' is present in the program folder, and Opera's 'urlfilter.ini' can easily be converted to Iron's accepted format by following these instructions (or see comments below).
Note: It is recommended you change the homepage. The Iron default homepage may contain ads or links to fake adware-containing downloads.
